With the dazzling bassist Niels-Henning Ørsted Pedersen and drummer Martin Drew, the pianist puts together an outstanding set of standards, famous jazz compositions, and several of his own pieces. “Who Can I Turn To” blends Peterson’s tremendous chops while retaining the piece’s lyricism. “Cakewalk” provides the leader a chance to stride a bit. Peterson’s moving “Nigerian Marketplace” (written for “Africa,” a suite that the pianist never recorded for release) spotlights Pedersen.

Drew provides excellent support for his bandmates throughout the performance, engaging the pianist in a series of exchanges in a romp through Peterson’s “Blues Etude.” The finale is a true showstopper, starting with an understated “Perdido” that eventually gives way to a mad dash through “Caravan.”
