Single 1971: ‘OYE COMO VA’ (Santana)
On February 2, 1971, the single ‘Oye como va’ was released by the group led by guitarist Carlos Santana. It was a version with rock and blues arrangements of the well-known song by Tito Puente which, not only launched the career of the Californian group, also popularized the sound of Latin rock around the world. It peaked at number 13 on Billboard’s Hot100.
