Adele

The British singer Adele (born Adele Laurie Blue Adkins), was born on May 5, 1988 in England (she is 34 years old), in the Tottenham neighborhood of the London municipality of Haringey. Among her songs are such well-known songs as ‘Hello’, ‘Rolling in the Deep’ or ‘Someone like you’.

Her vocation for the world of music was born, as has happened with many other artists, when she participated in a school play, in which the young Adele, who was then 14 years old, had to interpret a song by Gabrielle, ‘Rise ‘.

Once she graduated, at the age of 18, the future singer was totally clear about her vocation, so she decided to join other musician friends of hers and tour the United Kingdom, but not before having published a couple of her songs on a specialized website in the world of the arts, including music.

In 2007, she was able to release her first limited edition single ‘Hometown Glory’ on Peacemarker Recordings. This theme was a tribute to her hometown, Tottenham, and was a smash hit on MySpace. Subsequently, this song has been heard on small screen programs such as the series ‘Gray’s Anatomy’, the dramatic episodes about teenagers ‘Skins’ or the successful ‘Secreat Diary of a Call Girl’.

After that, the singer immediately released her second single, with the label of XL Recordings, an independent record company.

She began to become a well-known character, and not only did her songs begin to be broadcast through the BBC media, but also, at the end of this same year, 2007, said media began to invite the singer to participate in several of their programs.

All this led to the singer, in March 2008, being able to sign a joint contract with XL Recordings and Columbia Records, starting a tour of North America that same year.

In June of this same year 2008, Adele released her first album, ’19’, which in its first week managed to reach the top of the UK charts. With this album, which includes the version of Bob Dylan’s ‘Make You Feel My Love’ at the express wish of her representative Jonathan Dickins since he adored this song, the singer got her first Gold Record. It is estimated that they have already sold himself more than 7 million copies, and, thanks to him, Adele won the Grammy for Best New Artist of the year 2009.

In October 2008, the singer was the musical guest on the popular program ‘Saturday Night Live’, one of the most famous in the United States and which has been broadcast for more than 30 years. The singer performed a couple of songs, and the expectation that her participation in it entailed was so great that the program obtained that night the highest score of the last 14 years.

In 2010, the artist earned a second Grammy Award nomination for Best Pop Vocal Performance for her song ‘Hometown Glory’.

In early 2011, Adele released her second album, ’21’, choosing this title for it because of how old she was when she wrote the songs. With it, he managed to reach number one on the charts of 18 countries, including the United Kingdom, also becoming the best-selling album in the United States during 2011. It is noteworthy that in Mexico he achieved 4 Platinum Records. In Spain, the album got the Gold Record. It included the great success ‘Rolling In The Deep’.

The album’s themes have been defined as ‘classical and contemporary roots with a mix of country music’. The magazine ‘Rolling Stone’ stated that it was the best album released in 2011, and the singer won a Grammy for ‘Album of the Year’ and another for ‘Best Vocal Album’ in 2012.

In 2015, she released ’25’, the third album in Adele’s recording career, with songs like ‘Hello’ or ‘Send My Love (To Your New Lover)’.
