Alan Menken or Alan Irwin Menken (New Rochelle, New York, United States, July 22, 1949) is an American pianist and film composer winner of eight Oscars and six Golden Globes, among many other awards.

He is best known for his work in a number of Disney animated films, including The Hunchback of Notre Dame, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Hercules, Pocahontas, Aladdin, and Home on the Range. His first successful play was the 1982 off-Broadway musical Little Shop of Horrors. He is one of the few people who has won Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony awards.
