Remembering John Mayall, born on this day (1933-2024)
John Mayall. veteran bluesman – more than 60 years of professional career – was one of the pioneers of European blues in the 20th century. John Mayall (Macclesfield, Cheshire, November 29, 1933), began performing in the 60s under the name “John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers”, and is still there. In 1965 he teamed up with Eric Clapton and they recorded “Blues Breakers” together, which was a great success. Clapton left the group and was replaced by Peter Green, with whom he released his third album called “A Hard Road” in 1967.

Other figures of the stature of Mick Taylor, who later joined the Rolling Stones, have passed through the Bluesbreakers throughout their history. In 2013, John signed a deal with Forty Below Records and has since experienced a true artistic and career renaissance, including his induction into the Blues Hall of Fame in 2015.
On February 22, 2019, he released “Nobody Told Me”, his latest studio album. The album features an extensive list of guest guitarists, all personal favorites of John Mayall, including Todd Rundgren, Little Steven Van Zandt of The E Street Band, Alex Lifeson of Rush, Joe Bonamassa, Larry McCray and Carolyn Wonderland, who will join the band on tour. In addition to the new album, the artist continues with his calendar full of live shows, with which he travels around the world challenging nature.

Johnn Mayall in his purest form. An excellent album by one of the great white figures of blues. Together with prominent jazz and blues instrumentalists (trumpeter Blues Mitchell, among others), he recorded one of the great albums of his career, which is listened to with admiration in one go.
