1943
Keith Richards is born in Dartford, Kent (England).
Guitarist and leader with Mick Jagger of The Rolling Stones. A childhood neighbor of Mick Jagger, they met again by chance in 1960 and both saw that they liked the same music, blues and rhythm and blues. There was the seed of the Rolling Stones, which began to revolve around a project directed by Jones. Soon the group began to record (expelling Stewart) and after the initial versions that nourished their repertoire, Richards and Jagger began, not without effort, to compose their first songs, which little by little would lead them to gain power. musical and business of the band, for which Jones’ dissipated life was also essential, which he ended up abandoning when the Rolling Stones were already a mass phenomenon in much of Europe and the United States.
The rest is history: Richards has played the role of the rebel (his life was very hectic until the early eighties) while Jagger has remained the businessman. The relationship between the two, in any case, has been very distant since the early seventies, which has not prevented them from maintaining the group to this day and continuing to compose together.
Keith Richards has recorded a few but recommendable albums alone, and with Ronnie Wood he created the band The New Barbarians. The publication in 2010 of “Vida”, her memoir, once again brought to light the differences with Jagger and the unstable balance in which their relationship remains. Richards is one of the icons of rock.
