Paolo Conte (Asti, January 6, 1937) is a famous Italian singer-songwriter.
Graduated in law (which is why he earned the nickname Avvocato , lawyer) he approached the world of jazz as an amateur playing the vibraphone in some musical groups in Asti. At the same time, he began to write his first songs in collaboration with his brother Giorgio.

In the mid-sixties he became known as an author with songs such as, to name a few: La coppia più bella del mondo and Azzurro (sung by Adriano Celentano ), Insieme a te non ci sto più ( Caterina Caselli ) Tripoli ’69 ( Patty Pravo ) or Genova per noi ( Bruno Lauzi ).
But it was in 1974 when he debuted not only as an author, but also as a singer. And the following year he repeated the experience with a new album. Both this one and the one from the year 74 have only his name as their title, Paolo Conte . However, it was only in 1979 with Un gelato al limon that it would be fully appreciated by the public, especially in France.
In the eighties, several unreleased albums will be released and, in the meantime, he will be busy with the many tours in Europe, where, as in Italy, the sign of no tickets always hangs. The first result of these tours will be the albums Concerti (1985) and Paolo Conte Live (1988).
