Keith Jarrett
Keith Jarrett (May 8, 1945, Allentown, Pennsylvania, United States), is one of the great jazz talents that emerged in the last thirty years. Able to play in addition to the piano, the guitar, the saxal, the flute, the clavicord and the organ, Jarrett stood out since his childhood for his precocity and for his musical qualities.

As soon as its graduation is finished at the University of Berklee in 1962, I entered the “Messengers Jazz” of the drummer, with the drummer, with whom he remained from 1965 to 1966 and later, entered the saxophonist group, Charles Lloyd with whom he was From 1966 to 1969. The great musical experience he obtained with those two musicians, served to form his own trio with the bass player, Charlie Haden and the drummer, Paul Motian with whom he would debut in the record field in 1967 with the album: «Life Between The Exit Signs ». A magnificent album that would be the departure gun of his splendid race.

In the seventies, he works two years with the trumpeter, Miles Davis, engaged in his electric jazz stage, and shortly thereafter for the avant -garde German Seal Ecm and his debut is the beginning of the successful career of his discography. His first album entitled: “Facing You” is a success of criticism and public. The end of the decade would bring to Keith Jarrett, the recording of the perhaps best known album of the pianist. His “The Köln Concert” was undoubtedly one of the most important jazz records of the seventies. Already at that point I had consolidated together with other young European musicians, an aesthetic and musical proposal that served as a banner of modern and avant -garde jazz that fed on very varied influences.

Keith Jarrett’s trajectory during the last twenty years, reflects a past loyalty to the project initiated in 1983, when he recorded his extraordinary albums: «Standars. Vol 1 »; «Standars. Vol 1 »and« Standars Live »with Gary Peacock and Jack Dejahnette. Jarrett was at the forefront of a conventional trio to initiate what today reaches dimensions of encyclopedic tribute to jazz tradition. The pianist Jarrett has fed on the schools of Bud Powell and Lennie Tristano, without excluding the influence of a Bill Evans always present on their albums, and became a model of many pianists.
