LP 1970: ‘MORRISON HOTEL’ (The Doors)
On February 9, 1970, the fifth studio album of the Los Angeles band was released in which they returned to their blues roots after the lukewarm reception of their previous album, ‘The Soft Parade’, more experimental. The production was again in charge of Paul Rothchild and in this case the critics were practically unanimous in recognizing the album as one of the best works of the Doors. It included the song ‘Roadhouse blues’, which appeared as the B-side of the only single that was extracted and in its recording participated (under pseudonym) John B. Sebastian on harmonica. The name ‘Hard Rock Café’ on the back cover belonged to a now-defunct Los Angeles bar and served as inspiration for the creators of the famous international franchise of the same name.
