Chet Baker Sings (1954)
Chet Baker Sings is the debut vocal album by jazz musician Chet Baker, released in 1954 by Pacific Jazz Records. In 2001, the album received the Grammy Hall of Fame Award. Baker would return to selections from this album throughout his career. “My Funny Valentine” was regularly included in his concert performances and is considered by some to be his signature song.

It’s Time is a 1962 album by jazz drummer Max Roach, released on Impulse! Records which also features trumpeter Richard Williams, tenor saxophonist Clifford Jordan, trombonist Julian Priester, pianist Mal Waldron, bassist Art Davis, and a vocal choir conducted by Coleridge-Taylor Perkinson. Singer Abbey Lincoln appears on “Lonesome Lover”

Lee Morgan – Search for the New Land (1964)
Search for the New Land is an album by jazz trumpeter Lee Morgan. A set with a group of regular Blue Note sidemen, Search for the New Land was recorded before The Sidewinder was released. Although it was recorded in 1964, the album was shelved for two years, then issued with the original catalogue number 84169.

John Coltrane – Expression / Stellar Regions (1967)
Expression is a studio album by jazz saxophonist John Coltrane, recorded in early 1967 and released in late September of that year, around Coltrane’s birthday, and two months after his death. This was the first posthumous release of a Coltrane recording. It was also his first charting album, reaching a small No. 194 on the Billboard Top LPs.

Pat Metheny Group – First Circle (1984)
First Circle is the fourth studio album by the Pat Metheny Group. It was recorded over four days in February 1984 and released on ECM later that year. Metheny is joined by Lyle Mays on keyboards, Steve Rodby on bass, Paul Wertico on drums, and Pedro Aznar on vocals, percussion, and guitar. First Circle won the Grammy Award for Best Jazz Fusion Performance.
