LP 1969: ‘CLOUD NINE’ (The Temptations)
On February 17, 1969, the ninth studio album, ‘Cloud Nine’ by the group The Temptations, was released in the United States. This marked their entry into psychedelia under the production of Norman Whitfield and the beginning of the band’s stage without David Ruffin, who was replaced by Dennis Edwards. The album reached the top 5 of the pop charts and the single received a Grammy for ‘Best R&B Group Performance’.
LP 1976: ‘THEIR GREATEST HITS 1971-1975’ (Eagles)
On February 17, 1976, the album ‘Their Greatest Hits 1971-1975) was released, a compilation of singles by the Californian band that, in addition to reaching No. 1 on Billboard200, is, with more than 42 million copies sold, one of the five most commercially successful albums in history. It includes the most outstanding songs from the group’s first four albums such as ‘Take it easy’, ‘Lyin’ eyes’, ‘Peaceful easy feeling’, ‘Desperado’ and ‘One of these nights’.
