On March 11, 1970, ‘Déjà Vu’, the second album by the trio Crosby Stills & Nash, was released, to which Neil Young was added for the occasion. LP 1974: ‘CHICAGO VII’ (Chicago)
On March 11, 1974, the sixth (double) album by the band Chicago was released, the third consecutive No. 1 in a series of five that topped the Billboard 200 charts between 1972-75 and the last one they released in double LP format. It was originally going to be a single album with songs more oriented towards instrumental jazz, but the fear of producer James William Guercio and Peter Cetera of not meeting commercial expectations, made them add a series of more ‘conventional’ songs, such as ‘(I’ve been) Searchin’ so long’ by James Pankow, ‘Call on me’ by trumpeter Lee Loughname or ‘Happy man’ and the sumptuous pop ballad ‘Wishing you were here’ by Cetera, which offered clues to the musical path they were going to follow in the future.
